the old weathervane --
so worn and rusty it is
anybody's guess

   

DANGER:
    TCH OUT
        UD SLIDES

   

meant to last summer
no excuse is good enough --
at the funeral

   

rice paddies melting
rice paper pink umbrellas --
land of morning calm

   

camping near Bear Lake --
it is difficult to sleep
with one eye open

   

my thirteen-year-old
she's so wonderful today --
I am suspicious

   

the photographs
of my new grandson --
shown to pieces

   

such bad sake
although after each cup
it tastes better

   


About the Poet -- J.D. Heskin makes his home in Duluth, Minnesota along with his wife, K. T., and a rat terrier named Hedda. He has writing credits in such literary magazines as North Coast Review, Artword Quarterly and The Poets Page. Lately, J.
