lingering daylight . . .
she has
a way with words

a rock

        the river

goes around

    dust floating
another way
    to look at myself

back from the beach—
two drawers
we left open

summer twilight . . .
making each other guess
our candy’s flavor

building
the fire
between us

crimson leaves in a line outside the graveyard gate
