petting farm—
strands of fencing
wrapped with hair

birdsong—
so many foreign languages
in my backyard

summer showers—
the sound of the house
shrinking

spring break—
a boy and his dog
off leash

sudden storm—
only a book on his side
of the bed

May morning—
a crack in the pavement
blossoms

summer opals—
jellyfish glisten on strings
of seaweed
