Flowers

cenotaph ~
a bee settles
on the alamanda

 

MAY
Land

hilltops pierce
the valley mist
a swirl of egrets

 

JUNE
New Life

tax year ends
fingerlings pattern
the bay

 

JULY
Animals

cold rain
on the pet shop window
a pup's pink tongue

 

AUGUST
Time

fifty years on ~
that same urge to climb
the playground pine

 

SEPTEMBER
Water

the canoe
glides under mangroves
her white neck

 

OCTOBER
Loss

hailstorm over ~
half their tomato crop
intact

 

NOVEMBER
Aquatic Life

spring tide
a crab hole slurps
in its turn

 

DECEMBER
Family

city cousins gone
he lets his best friend in ~
smell of wet fur
