winter sky~
my children's window snowflakes
curling at the edge

Death

your remembered death
pine trees bending over
with the weight of snow

 

MARCH
Flight

from tree to tree
the dark flight of sparrows
spring fever

 

APRIL
Flowers

the scent of flowers
from my open window
spring cleaning

 

MAY
Land

this greening land
your skin brushing my skin
once again

 

JUNE
New Life

pulse of new life
a butterfly rests briefly
on a marigold

 

JULY
Animals

quiet afternoon
my animals circled around
each other

 

AUGUST
Time

fullness of time~
your hand brushing the length
of my hair

 

SEPTEMBER
Water

clear lake water~
thoughts of you rising
to the surface

 

OCTOBER
Loss

that dream again
of losing my way
mid-life crisis

 

NOVEMBER
Aquatic Life

the quiet hum
of the aquarium
afternoon love

family pictures
feeling some distant grief
