errant passion fruit
my electric wire crowded
with flowers

cassava harvest
from the muddy baby's face
a stream of smiles

New Life

end of winter
melancholically I clean
the window's nest

Animals

summer rain
on the military field
a sleeping horse

 

AUGUST
Time

ninetieth birthday
he poses for a picture
beneath the oak tree

 

SEPTEMBER
Water

summer heat
creek bottom's rocks
catch the light

 

OCTOBER
Loss

shimmering summer
the time approaches
for him to die

Aquatic Life

dark room
an orange fish flickers
from its aquarium

the dog sniffs each
