JANUARY
Sky

New Year's Day—
the garden without a soul
where I stroll aimlessly

FEBRUARY
Death

washing my mouth,
I realise the water
no longer cold

MARCH
Flight

each bud,
glistening with
the overnight rain

APRIL
Flowers

called to join,
I venture out to admire plum blossom
in my pyjamas

MAY
Land

some women
with bare upper arms—
early summer

JUNE
New Life

which colours
will they turn tomorrow,
her hydrangea?

JULY
Animals

blurred blue,
flying from one branch to another—
a kingfisher!

AUGUST
Time

summer butterflies—
playing music
without a sound

SEPTEMBER
Water

the autumn mosquito,
sitting in the same place
as yesterday

OCTOBER
Loss

honking geese—
Mother is not here for me
to say farewell

NOVEMBER
Aquatic Life

fewer and fewer people
to say hello—winter
in the country lane

DECEMBER
Family

raindrops on
withered twigs, each pregnant
with winter moon
