from around the world.

skiing
an occasional crack
in ocean ice

strewing poppy seeds
on dirty snow

ice break-up
heavy snow covers
her granite breasts

an inchworm
on a fiddlehead fern
robin's shadow

blackflies
she lifts her veil to count
lettuce seeds

Maine postcard
high above a stone wall
blue Lupines

sudden fog
two white sailboats
racing home

'fresh wild blueberries for sale'
on every corner

school --
shuttered cottages
line the shore

red maples --
people from away
view the foliage

hunting season --
the north woods hike
postponed

snow shoes --
scent of woodsmoke
and balsam
