TPLR Fall & Winter 2001
Deborah P. Kolodji

Leonids

away
from city lights
meteors splash the sky
I watch Leo rise in the East
roaring

Jaws

Riptides
of gnashing surf -
the freezing ocean bites,
swallowing him up, drowning in
sea grins.

Night Noises

Haunted
hearing house creaks
no one else ever hears.
Silence - as ghosts inside me keep
screaming.

On the Wrong Wavelength

silent
signals from stars
sliding by satellites
searching for radio noises
like ours

An Earthbound View

long curves
beyond the moon
heaven floats the planets
into the empty void, touching
time's end
