The story was born on a Ferris wheel ride that my sister, Tanvi (the co-director of the film), and I shared amidst the festivities of Durga Pujo in Kolkata. As we observed all of this, it stirred within us the nostalgia of having grown up in this city and made us reflect on the nature of time — whether our experiences and emotions ever truly fade, or if they remain suspended in the ether, always a part of us, quietly shaping the present. The story was conceived of, written, casted for and executed all within a span of three days. We wanted to film while the festival was still on-going and hence we used a documentary style approach, choosing to shoot handheld on high focal length lenses in order to keep the focus on the protagonists amidst the chaos of the festivities.
