Filmmaker Statement

It felt so good to see my first narrative film on the screen. My intentions were very self-indulgent. I wanted to see more ace representation on the screen. Representation where the characters that were asexual weren't subhuman, alien, robots, or cold, unfeeling villains. Then, it became more than that. I started having fun writing the characters. Then our cast came together and added even more with their interpretations. My editor added even more to the film with her work. She is a meticulous, detailed-oriented video editor. I was unprepared for the impact an amateur movie could have on the audience until I received messages about how much the film meant to people. I would do it again in a heartbeat. In fact, I most definitely will because I am an aspiring filmmaker.
