Filmmaker Statement

A SHOT IN THE DARK is our debut film. The poem "Das Zerbrochene Ringlein" by the romantic poet Joseph von Eichendorff and the films of directors David Lynch, Nicolas Winding Refn and Gaspar Noé, coupled with our own observations and experiences during our time as students, provided the inspiration for the plot. The project was shot within three months in 2022. The filming locations were the student house at Frankfurt University, the dramatic stage and the Frankfurt subway. The project was largely realized with students from art degree courses. We never attended film school, but we are passionate about arthouse and indiependent films. This passion gave us the motivation to start and realize our own project!
