Filmmaker Statement

After being denied funding for years for various shorts after being told that the ideas present were "too ambitious" or "could not be done for the resources listed" Director/Writer Jacob Wiebe and Performer Jordan Dawson decided to bet on themselves. The film was in development for nearly 3 years with multiple false starts. One of them being Jordan being diagnosed with cancer during the film's production cycle. After overcoming it within that timeline, Jordan returned with reinvigorated zeal and a new lease on life to make the film all it can be. Through favour economy, maxing credit cards, and leading with the heart, "A Song For William Bird" managed to claw its way into existence. Despite all evidence of the contrary that it would never come to fruition. It is with all of our being that we are proud to present this film. Thank you.
