As a cinephile and filmmaker, the minimal storytelling method of Southeast Asian (Thailand, Taiwan, South Korea, etc.) movies has a big effect on me. I didn't want to use social problems as the main target. My priority is describing the inner world of the individual, using the audiovisual expression of cinema. 'an ordinary day' avoids the social realist trend that dominates short films. It is a coming-of-age short film project that aims to reveal the concepts of loneliness, alienation, and lack of communication. The main character 'Tolga' experiences the pains of modernization based on urban culture, individuating, and realizing himself in terms of an existential sense. My directorial choices are reflections of Tolga's day as an impressionist aspect.
