Filmmaker Statement

Anirudh came to me at a time when I felt unsure about everything – unsure about myself, about my work, about my ambitions, and, about my place in this new country I have been trying to call home. Making this film hasn’t really helped me become sure about anything. However, it has helped me find a community of people around me who also feel a little unsure in their lives, and the surety of knowing I am not alone in these feelings immediately made everything easier. The film hasn’t made me find it any easier to give my name in a coffee shop, but it has taught me that I am not alone. I hope the film makes you laugh, feel something, and then, laugh again.
