Filmmaker Statement

I don't believe that people are inherently good or inherently bad. I do believe that people are inherently weird. We do things for reasons that make sense in our heads but are completely inexplicable to anyone who doesn't live in our brain (AKA everyone else in the world). Antartica, the Last Frontier is about a guy who is really excited about something and can't understand why nobody else cares. I think there is a universality in that experience. "This is so cool to me! Why don't you think this is cool" I chose to keep the film filtered through his point of view, only getting a sense for how strange his behaviour is through the reactions of the other characters. You know how like 800 film publications had articles about how Nolan wrote the Oppenheimer script in first person? Its like that (so I guess you could say that me and Chrissyboy are on the same level).
