Filmmaker Statement

one particularly sleepless evening, under the full moon above brooklyn, staccato thoughts played on a 4-track loop in my mind. why is it, i pondered, that so many people are fearful of what i represent? a gay/democratic-socialist/buddhist/coastal artist is, to some, a quite threatening prospect. i am their worst nightmare. but i can't quite figure out why, as i mostly just hang out with my partner and my cat and listen to vinyl and try to be a kind person. so then i wrote a song and made this music video. think of it as a psa for building bridges and blurring the lines that divide us. then boogey down.
