Filmmaker Statement

The inspiration for this came from my mom. As sweet as she is, she has often used some dark humor and manipulation to guilt trip me. The idea of losing one's parent is heavy, and one I think about it often and I use humor to cope with it. I wanted to explore this theme in a heightened and absurd way. My cinematographer and I have wanted to challenge ourselves technically with an elaborate oner, but never had a concept that fit without being forced until this idea came around.
