Cardiac Hill is a re-imagining of my own medical journey after I had brain and inner ear surgery following years of health troubles. I feel a real bond with our lead character, Ava, as she embarks on her own medical journey. Despite the film's length and scale, we made this with a crew of just 6 people -- mostly family and friends, with no prior filmmaking experience. We wore a lot of hats.
