What is the meaning of family? Bloodline? Sisterhood? These two women, well into the start of adulthood, discover they're related. Not only are they related, but they must now share custody of their mother's house. Amelia is resentful, hurt, broken. Emily shows up with a wealth of hope and joy, much to Amelia's chagrin. Amelia doesn't know her, or understand her. It is only through Emily's unfailing (albeit, slightly obnoxious) positivity, and the reveal of Emily's own deep loss, that the two sisters can begin to stand on common ground, and discover that their incidental sisterhood could be the start of a real connection. Clot aims to explore the aftermath of grief, what it means to lose a life, and how connection is only possible when we feel safe enough to let another person in.
