"Codependent Socks!” is inspired by my dad's 3rd marriage... and his second. It's a show about a family that can’t function, without the wife’s ex-husband and the husband’s ex-wife. With three kids from three marriages, each with a different mom of a different race, we’ll explore love, culture clashes, and awkward mixed family dynamics, while questioning “what really is a ‘normal’ family?” In the spirit of a classic family sitcom, each self-contained episode will explore the intricacies of a family tree with knotted branches. Making them puppets helps depict the edgy comedy tone required to tell authentic stories about this particular overly open minded family (mine) that has no boundaries when it comes to sex, race, politics, and general raciness. The tone is fun and outrageous, with an in your face honesty meant to appeal to teens and young adults of all ages, who want to poke fun at the old fashioned sitcom, and at the same time celebrate it.
