Filmmaker Statement

This film was made as my graduation project from film school in 2017. Of all the films I’ve made, Come Out of The Woods has helped me develop the most as a filmmaker. I’ve always felt that the process of filmmaking often depends heavily on luck and good fortune - I certainly had that in abundance on this film. The crew were absolutely fantastic and worked so fucking hard. The cast were the best I’ve worked with. Huge shout out to Nico Mirallegro, Joe Dempsie, Ben Smith, Brian McCardie & Sydney Craven, Ye all absolutely killed it. Right now I’m struggling through the writing process of much longer version of this short, so it’s nice to look back on it and feel inspired. Hopefully we can do it all again soon!
