Filmmaker Statement

I made this film because I tend to gravitate toward satirical comedy. As a filmmaker, it's easy to feel a grandiose sense of importance in what we do. It can feel like 'making your movie' is worth risking it all and that passion is often celebrated within the industry, but for people outside of it, it can seem reckless and ridiculous. The world of sommeliers I feel is quite similar. Many people can look at their level of sacrifice and passion and think it's a bit ridiculous. It's just wine. But to them it's their life's work. It's everything.
