Filmmaker Statement

Before I started working on this documentary, I thought to myself - Who would give a shit about this? Enter the Dungeon was a hip-hop battle league that a couple of friends made because they wanted to be recognized. In hindsight, it feels like the league came and went. Why spend so much time telling a story about a small thing that happened in a relatively small town? The thing is.. every time I brought it up - everyone I spoke to told me how much of an impact it made in their lives and the rap scene/community in Tampa at the time. I guess when you're in the midst of it you don't see it. I'm proud to be telling this story the best way I know how. I'm grateful for the people who have helped and have been willing to participate to help pinpoint what happened to ETD. Because at the beginning - it took off. But over time, it faded into obscurity.
