Filmmaker Statement

I have suffered from OCD all my life and it affected my life in a lot of ways. My thoughts and patterns were never validated as a child and especially when I was in school. So I, as a filmmaker had decided to make a film one day, through which a kid suffering from OCD watches it and relates to the same problems, and hopefully his/her/their thoughts/actions/feelings are validated. And hopefully they don’t feel like they are suffering alone. After all, this representation matter a lot. And it means a lot to a large number of school kids. And I did just that! Crushed It is a film about a small innocent school kid who on the last day of school, just wants to go and sit next to his crush in the school bus. This is a film about his journey from the school to the school bus. He is suffering from paternal OCD and hence endures a lot of bullying from his peers and a lot of negative luck on his way to bus. Will he reach the school bus on time? Will he get to interact with his crush?
