There is a part of heartbreak no one talks about. It’s the scariest stretch, and the longest. It doesn’t look like tears on the subway or days spent in bed. It’s subtle – so subtle we may not realize it for what it is. We operate with the assumption that our calloused heart is here to stay – ignoring the deep and buried craving for the freedom to feel. Until one day, when it’s least expected, a surprising pick makes a puncture in our resilient heart. And suddenly, we are brought home - back to a wildly simple and deeply complicated sensation of hope. And there is nothing left for us to do but to bravely begin again.
