As the writer of the film (Liam Higgins), skateboarding was my first passion, but I always felt it was deeply misunderstood. The public often views skateboarding as an intense sport that is fueled by adrenaline. When in reality, a lot of people's perspectives are centered around self-expression, purpose, and community. In the film, Fabus moment of doubt is silenced by Knechtel's narrative, which is reminding yourself why you do it in the first place - fueling the passion of your inner child and the curiosity of learning. My purpose with this film is to showcase my love story to my first passion - skateboarding. I feel like this is a story a lot of different people in their passions can relate to.
