DIXIELAND is a timely story. Told through the POV of a Black physician in the waning days of the Civil War, it pushes past the usual talking points from history class and zeroes in on the trauma that can shape us into who we become. With the help of Tony Todd, Philip Orazio, and writer J. Scott Worthington, I had the pleasure of crafting a conversation piece that we’re all in desperate need of, cloaked in the heightened tensions of a war long gone. We'd be deeply honored if you would add us to your festival's programming. Thank you for your consideration! -William Hellmuth (Director/Producer/DP)
