Filmmaker Statement

I made this film through the Pritzker Pucker Studio Lab for the Promotion of Mental Health via Cinematic Arts, and is inspired by my own experience with mental illness. Depression can make me feel that my life and the world are meaningless, which Lily sees in everything being made of Play-Doh. Through her curiosity and with love from her family, Lily finds that within the meaninglessness is also absurdity and joy. I hope that in telling this story I can help others feel seen or better understand what it's like for loved ones struggling with depression.
