Filmmaker Statement

As a director, my goal is to tell stories about underrepresented communities, and finding the shared humanity in all of our experiences. I feel a deep sense of responsibility to shed light on aspects of life that are not given the value that all human stories deserve. There is a great simplicity in human connection that I find to be incredibly powerful, and I strive to give the characters in my films the chance to be seen, not only by audiences but by the other characters in the world of the film, in the way that they desperately want to be seen. For, ultimately we are all quietly screaming to be seen, and I find great beauty in illuminating that desire to my audience.
