“Ex Creta”
A group of bored roommates spy on their neighbor's disturbing ritual.
I have two big-ish dogs, one of which is a puppy. Which means that most of my days are spent wandering around the streets of San Francisco, sleep-deprived and in sweatpants, while I shuttle around large quantities of poop in little green bags. One day, in a particularly delirious state of mind, I thought: “I wonder if there was a more productive use of this excreta?”
Lo and behold, the premise for an extremely off-putting short film was born, and so naturally I assembled a unique and amazing team of weirdos to help me make it. Within the story, there are ruminations on cancel culture, a commentary on the beautifully terrifying power of social media, and an unexpected twist to boot, but let’s be real: this is basically just a 5-minute-long poop joke.
