Five Stars

Chemistry is the bond that holds a project together. Whether it was gaining chemistry with our cast by locking them months in advance, or chemistry as a first-time directing duo between long-time friends, we had the challenge of making five distinct characters all stand out in an equally bizarre world. Somewhere in the middle of careful and meticulous pre-production, extensive rehearsals, and just pure fun, Five Stars was born. We wanted to make a film that felt different, and being well aware of our ever-waning attention spans, we aimed to grab the audience from the opening frame and never let go. Knowing the film is very limited with locations we needed to answer one question; "how do we make this aesthetically pleasing?" The answer is an amalgamation of real-life experiences supported by visuals from films that have inspired us. In the end, all of these elements were brought together to conceive a situation that only these characters could find themselves in. Buckle up and remember - Five Stars.
