Filmmaker Statement

Foxbody is written, directed, and produced by Cameron Monaghan. Shot in the California desert, as well as Los Angeles. Monaghan has devoted two years worth of earnings in pursuit of his risky passion project. Foxbody stars Kelli Berglund (Now Apocalypse, Cherry) and Cameron Monaghan (Shameless, Gotham). Monaghan's debut, Foxbody, is a love letter to David Lynch, the Coen Bros, and the independent American films of the late-eighties. Featuring a stunning dance sequence, pulse-pounding gunplay, and a bleak ending, Shot exclusively on 35mm film in collaboration with Panavision and Kodak. Using practical effects and old-school moviemaking techniques, it is an energetic short by a first-time filmmaker. With a majority-female crew including 23-year-old cinematographer Aislyn Murray, producer Nika Burnett, prod designer Kelly Pennington, and choreographer Madison Olandt.
