Filmmaker Statement

In a world where class, caste and politics divide us fundamentally, few places and events exist that unite us. The iconic Thanksgiving Parade is an occasion where New York City comes together to revel in pure joy. As an artist, I respond to divisiveness by creating work that exudes love and joy. The original idea of the film was only to capture some behind-the-scenes footage of her life on the day of the Thanksgiving parade. But after talking to Elizabeth I realized that her passion for photography and art is rooted in her love story with her husband. The enterally hopeful romantic in me was hooked. We then decided to make a movie not only about the parades but the magic of love, that keeps us hopeful even in the most dire of consequences. I see love and hope as different sides of the same coin.
