Filmmaker Statement

When I was a kid and my father left for deployment to Afghanistan he told me he’d always be with me, especially when I raced his ghost in Mario Kart. That feeling of loneliness but also closeness to him as I raced his ghost in the game, gave me hope that he’d return soon. These memories inspired me to write “Ghost Trials”. Though Henry and Mark’s relationship is extreme, I knew others could relate to this feeling of a loved one seemingly lost but still there.
