Filmmaker Statement

The idea for this film came from our relationship with an exceptional dog, a young 3-year-old border collie, named Oliver. He is a deeply curious and lively, joyful and kind being. Being around an animal like him taught us to consider the world from his point of view, to imagine it with his senses, his codes but also those he lacks to understand the human society of which he is a part off. Our actions and interactions seem devoided of logic, when we are deprived of the ability to understand their code. What can an animal so intelligent and attentive to human beings tell itself when it sees us smoking, for example, or when we dance to the rhythm, when we rollerblade, or when we enter places in front of which he must wait for us. What does he imagine when we operate machines, when we cry, when we dress up, when we telephone... Our desire was to create a simple and beautiful film, a story accessible to all, which provokes surprise and sweetness in the viewer.
