Filmmaker Statement

We both struggle to balance our need to address one of the largest problems of our civilization (climate change) with our helplessness to do anything given the scale of the problem. We wanted to confront that conflict through this film which follows the tumultuous journey of a naive activist from hope to determination to nihilism to despair to dissolution. This short film doesn't provide answers but it does hopefully serve as an empathetic look into what most of us struggle with when we lack the time, courage, the list goes on...to fight one of the defining problems of our time. In fact, to fight ANY of the defining problems of our time. However, one thing is for certain -- whether you face these problems with hope, despair, or apathy, the outcomes we're careening towards will find you one way or another... Additionally, this film was made during the pandemic in March 2021 with all of the constraints that entailed (pre-vaccine, etc.).
