“Rats of the sky”, this is how pigeons are thought of and referred to in our city. So what does that make the men who keep them, breed them, trade them, steal them, sell them, name them, and gently coo to them on the rooftops of Brooklyn? In making this film, we looked for a vantage point, literally, that allowed us an unadulterated view of this subculture. This meant looking for the right collaborators, from our Executive Producer, David Malone, to our Pigeon Master, Thomas O'Neil, this film was produced within the New York City pigeon breeding community, and with the New York City pigeon community. Homing is a film about belonging, it's about people looking for family, looking to find where home is and ultimately what home is.
