My name is Igor Raevskii and I’m thrilled to present my short film “I Wanna Be Happy” for your consideration. The story follows a hitman at rock bottom, who unexpectedly encounters a stranger with a mystical proposition. As they both contemplate suicide, the stranger unveils the existence of a mystical tree capable of fulfilling their deepest desires. However, the catch is a moral dilemma – the fulfillment of one person's wish demands the sacrifice of another life. The film delves into the hitman's moral struggle, evolving from a believer in violence to questioning the value of human life and the morality of his actions. "I Wanna Be Happy" aims to engage audiences in a thought-provoking exploration of ethical and philosophical questions, all while delivering its messages through the unique lens of dark comedy. The clash of ideologies of the main characters challenges the audience to reflect on their own beliefs about the world and human nature. Thank you for considering our work. I hope "I Wanna Be Happy" sparks meaningful conversations and provides a unique and entertaining experience.
