Hayley Standing and Shakyra Dowling met on a course run by Raising Films and Screen Skills to address specific obstacles and barriers for parents and carers working in the Film & TV industries. They were buddied together, and discovered that they both shared a similar experience to that of Annie in the short film Incompatible. Having never met another woman who had been through (almost) the exact same incredibly traumatic and difficult ordeal, they decided to embark upon the journey to get their story heard. In a world where women are still fighting for autonomy over their own bodies, Incompatible has worldwide relevance. The Incompatible team believe as they always have, that the stigma surrounding abortion needs to be lifted and women should not only legally have the right to a termination but also be able to speak about it openly and without judgement, thereby ending the silencing of so many women.
