All is not well. Living in troubled times requires living in two minds at once. One mind simulates normal life, buys groceries, smiles at neighbors, laughs at jokes and the other operates on a constant low level thrum of adrenaline, waiting for the knife. It can be easy to forget about the second when you're wrapped up in the first, but troubled times ensure we'll be reminded because no matter how sunny the day..something just ain't right. "Interference" is an attempt to bottle that visceral unease in the story of a woman who's reality falls apart before her eyes. I'm fascinated by what might happen to our minds if confronted with a genuine fracture in the nature of all we thought to be true. We know the risks inherent to a life that plays by the rules, however cruel, but how do we survive in a world increasingly perverted by the stuff of nightmares? In the face of such an alien and existential threat, how do we remain human?
