Filmmaker Statement

JACKS, is both a political satire and a parody comedy, taking aim at communication failures within the government, and the cliche's we see recycled in an endless amount of action/crime films. Politically the statement I am making with the script, is that government departments are inadequately run, under trained, over funded and lack the basic ability to communicate even between their own interconnected departments. Secondly I wanted to take the reader/viewer on a ride full of familiar tropes but tackle them in a different way. The idea being that the police officers involved in the story not understanding how criminals work, think and act, and taking their 'knowledge' from Hollywood films. Hence they dress, speak and live the stereotypes as our story plays out, each character unaware of how ridiculously off the mark they actually are. The film should feel like a slick and gritty crime drama and then suddenly surprise you with a heightened comedic moments.
