Set in Kolkata's stormy underbelly, "Kali" is a film-noir, crime-drama paying tribute to childhood superhero fantasies. Imagine reaching the edge of human capacity. What would you do? "Kali" explores this cliff, where revenge meets justice. Deepa, an ordinary woman in extraordinary circumstances, balances retribution and righteousness. With years of hard-hitting reporting experience, I've shaped "Kali" to probe power and societal issues, reimagining the superhero genre in an accessible, artful way. Made on a micro budget with passionate local crew and emerging talent, this creation is an authentic, non-extractive narrative. For me, a hero faces life's toughest realities. "Kali" explores this, delving into human resilience and moral complexity. Unlike my previous "Dark Rising," this short stands alone, amplifying themes of power and identity. Guided by social relevance, "Kali" continues my mission to encourage introspection and question heroism, power and justice.
