I love to explore utopian promises, and their unseen collateral damage. What do we do to others when we aim to live our best lives? And is there a way to achieve progress without doing it at someone else's expense. In my television work, I like to explore these ideas on grand topics, like politics and technological advancement. In this personal work, I chose to explore those themes within a private kind of utopia: nonmonogamy. Such relationships live in progressive circles as a tantalizing xanadu: a life that allows you to explore your own independent desires, free of shame or fear of being hurt, from within the safety of a stable couple. It sounds too good to be true, which makes me laugh, and makes me interested. Is it really too good to be true, or are those who think so missing out on something better? I wrote 'Keep It Open' as an open-ended conversation with that question.
