Filmmaker Statement

Based on a true story from my family, more precisely about my father's regret. There is a point of resentment towards my father when I found out he was late in accompanying my mother, who was about to give birth to their first child and become the first grandchild in the extended family. Losing a child is undoubtedly an endless sorrow, akin to the loss of a guiding light. In religious culture, especially in Islam in Indonesia, there are specific terms for losing parents, such as being an "Yatim" when losing a father and being an "Piatu" when losing a mother. However, there is no specific term or expression for losing a child due to the uniqueness of a child as the family's successor. This film is tribute for 30th anniversary of the departure of my first elder sister on January 26, 1994. The purpose of this film is to remind us not to be negligent in long-standing matters and to be attentive to what surrounds us, so that we don't regret only after it's gone.
