Filmmaker Statement

"Lindsay Lindsey Lyndsey" is about three childhood friends who reunite for a summer weekend. Over the course of that weekend, the friends assume the roles they had performed for each other when they were younger and also confront those roles now as 30-year-olds. I wanted to show that profound love often exists beside constant tension, and I wanted to put characters in situations where you feel like at any second there could be an explosion or an astounding act of grace. I think that's what's possible when we reencounter people we share a specific history with — our growth is tied to, enabled by, and refracts off of theirs. The film is about our capacity to change, it's about identity, and it’s about friendship, specifically queer, triangular friendship.
