Filmmaker Statement

Line Up At The Start was made purely out of curiosity. It was Fitnessgram season at our high school when Dante and I began to wonder who might be the narrator of the PACER test recordings we heard year after year. That night, completely independently, we went home and spent hours researching the test to try and figure out who this mysterious narrator might be. The next day, we officially started work on Line Up At The Start, sending emails, making calls, and finally interviewing not only the voice, but also two founding members of the Fitnessgram and the director of Hip Hop Public Health.
