My goal as a filmmaker is to mine the depths of how belief can alter, shape, and even distort the lens through which we view reality. In its most general sense, "Little Lamb" is a story about being betrayed by an authority figure. When people are forced to confront the fallibility of their prophets, institutions, bosses, or even family members, the experience can rattle their faith. The project quickly took on a more specific meaning, as it was shot in the wake of the “Dobbs v. Jackson” ruling overturning “Roe v. Wade.” For me, it grew to become an allegory, speaking to the fear and helplessness felt as some of United States’ most powerful authorities told women, in no uncertain terms, that their bodies are not their own. “Little Lamb” gives voice to a painful moment of upheaval in a person’s deepest held beliefs. It is my hope that by confronting the failings of individuals in power and the suffering they cause, people will be inspired to work toward a more loving, just, and tolerant world.
