Locusts Beyond a Phantasia delves into today's cultural phenomena surrounding visual media. 100 years ago the average person would see 50 images a day. Today, that number is anywhere from 5,000 to 10,000 a day. How has the oversaturation of images affected us? The film explores these questions by immersing the viewer in the world of Salem. A man who has regained the ability to see, who must learn to read images. What would our image-galore world look like to a person who was relearning how to understand images? Or is it that, our ability to "understand images" is inherently hiding the true nature of our surroundings and interactions?
