Filmmaker Statement

Nuria is a story about the relationship between a mother and her daughter -Nuria and Berenice- and how Nuria -the daughter- has to face her mother´s death because of cancer. The short films plot try to explore how human beings over come the mourning through the unconscious. The apparent nonsense narrative is a dream that explores the macabre, the somber and the magic realism of a loss in a little village in the Ecuadorian seaside.
